What started as a way to honor Sean Stilson, whom we lost to suicide in 2016, has become much more than that. AWARE has made a large impact on our lives!
We’ve had the opportunity, on a daily basis, to talk about Sean and actions needed to help our first responder community. The money donating from selling AWARE has been used to support organizations who are aiming to not only bring awareness to suicide prevention but also provide support and resources to first responders who may be stuggling.
The Stilsons have an amazing community of family and friends! Through selling bottles of AWARE, we have been fortunate to be able to support 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations that are making a difference. Since the creation of AWARE we have made donations to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), The Overwatch Collective, 809 Fight For Awareness, New Life K9s, and 1st H.E.L.P. These organizations have similar missions in bringing awareness to first responder suicide and providing resources for first responders and their families.
Amongst our first responder community, it is imperative that we discuss mental health on a more frequent basis and provide alternative resources to help those who may been struggling. The generous contributions will help fund important programs and resources that provide support and hope to those facing mental health challenges.
